Position Description: 

  • Responsible to assist participants in identifying skills and interests through a vocational profile to assist in identifying suitable employment where their skills, interests, and talents match the requirements of the job.
  • Responsible to examine the various tasks involved in the job and plan the various supports individuals need.
  • Responsible to assist participants in developing technical and social skills required to accomplish a job.
  • Responsible to assist in finding employment opportunities in the community through developing relationships with employers.
  • Responsible to assist participants while employed to ensure stability and success on the job.
  • Responsible to assist participants in completing job applications and accompany to interviews as appropriate, along with other search and readiness requirements.
  • Responsible to train individuals through on-site coaching in job skills, work attitudes, and behaviors, such as on-task behavior, appropriate social interaction and communication.
  • Responsible to provide ongoing support to participants, ensuring work tasks are completed according to the employer’s standards and ensures participants are trained in workplace safety precautions as set by the employer and based on the participant’s needs.
  • Provide advocacy, linkage, and referral services on behalf of chronically mentally ill.
  • Turn in billing and associated documentation as mandated by CREOKS policy.
  • Responsible to provide follow-along consultation services to participants and employers through job site visits as required for each participant served.
  • Responsible to complete required paperwork and documentation on time and accurately.
  • Responsible to meet and maintain productivity requirements as set by agency.
  • Responsible to provide transportation for participants to appointments, trainings, and meetings when a bus or cab is not appropriate.
  • Responsible to complete and submit flex fund forms for families as needed.
  • Responsible to maintain close communication with supervisor and other clinical and administrative staff to ensure the highest quality of service is delivered.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

 

  • Oklahoma Driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of current liability insurance.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with area employers and CREOKS staff.
  • Must be in recovery for at least one (1) year from mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to communicate needs to others.
  • Ability to share story of recovery to individuals and groups.
  • Knowledgeable of mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders.
  • Possess time management skills with willingness to work extra hours when necessary.
  • Successfully complete the Individual Placement and Support training through ODMHSAS and the online IPS Employment Center.
  • Successfully complete the ODMHSAS Peer Recovery Support Provider Training and Test to be credentialed.
  • Become trained and certified as a Wellness Coach according to ODMHSAS standards.
  • Successfully complete the Tobacco Free Support Group Training
