Job Description:

Muscogee Nation Businesses, LLC (MNB) group company, is seeking qualified candidates, preferably Male, for the role of CDT Technician/Medical Assistant to support the Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) program at Minot AFB. This position involves conducting specimen collection and observation services of male donors to ensure compliance with Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) protocols. CDT Technicians play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the drug testing process through direct observation of, maintaining chain of custody, and ensuring adherence to Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specimen Collection: Candidates must be able to perform same-sex observation duties in accordance with applicable testing requirements. Conduct random urine specimen collections daily, ensuring the chain of custody and the integrity of each sample.
  • Observation: Provide direct observation of the collection process of male donors during drug-screen collections, to prevent tampering and ensure compliance with established protocols.
  • Compliance & Quality Control: Implement strict procedural standards to maintain sample accuracy and prevent contamination. Conduct quality control checks on specimen samples.
  • Data Recording: Maintain accurate and confidential records of all collected specimens, including the use of automated systems for data entry.
  • Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality of all personal and medical information according to HIPAA and federal guidelines.
  • Training: Complete training provided by the Drug Demand Program Manager (DDRPM) and Drug Testing Program Administrative Manager (DTPAM) to ensure knowledge of protocols and responsibilities.
  • Reporting: Prepare daily collection reports, documenting the number of samples collected, any discrepancies, and incident reports as necessary.
  • After-Hours Support (Optional): Provide support for after-hours testing or surge requirements as requested by the Government.
  • Preparation of Treatment Areas: Prepare treatment rooms for examinations, ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Patient Interaction: Interview individuals being tested, check vital signs (if applicable), and maintain a professional, respectful demeanor throughout.
  • Equipment Handling: Assist with preparing and handling medical instruments and supplies as necessary for the testing process.
  • Administrative Duties: Record relevant medical and personal information while maintaining compliance with clinical protocols.
  • Assist in Clinical Procedures: As needed, assist with examinations or other clinical duties that support the DDR program’s operational requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a medical, laboratory, or security setting is preferred. Experience with specimen collection and observation is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
    • Familiarity with chain of custody procedures, record-keeping, and compliance with established protocols.
    • High attention to detail and ability to follow strict guidelines.
    • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and perform duties that require physical observation of individuals. Must be comfortable with direct observation of specimen collection.

Additional Requirements:

  • Security Clearance: Must be able to pass a federal background check and obtain any necessary clearances.
  • Drug-Free Workplace: Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and agree to ongoing random drug tests throughout employment.
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Work Schedule:

  • Typical hours are from 0700 to 1630, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks. After-hours support may occasionally be required for mishap testing or other surge requirements. Testing typically involves 35-40 personnel per day.
