Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

• The primary purpose of the maintenance technician is to ensure production and operations are running safely at the most efficient level achievable, producing the highest possible production quality.
• Complies with applicable regulations and the department's safety program.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in a timely, complete, and cost-effective manner.
• Perform duties to maintain production machines and other facility equipment.
• Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Reports findings to management.
• Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
• Identifies and recommends corrections on electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
• Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
• Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.
• Maintain building safety and appearance including utilities, ventilation, housekeeping and plumbing.
• Communicate existing and potential issues with group leaders/maintenance manager.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience in fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Any equivalent of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
• Ability to understand and interpret gauges, tools, and instruments relating to product quality and equipment repair
• Must have a good working knowledge of electricity and troubleshooting electrical issues.
• Knowledge and experience with PLCs, drives are preferred.
• Must have experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder.
• Forklift experience is required; training will be provided.

Education:

• High school diploma/ GED preferred but not required.
• Certifications preferred but not required.
