Associated Health Professionals (AHP), Inc., a Joint Commission Certified healthcare staffing agency, is seeking an experienced Echo Technologist (Cardiac Sonographer) to support the VA Northern California Health Care System in Mather, CA.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Echo Technologists seeking a full-time schedule with two consecutive weekdays off for appointments, errands, and personal time. Enjoy Mondays and Tuesdays off while working a Wednesday–Sunday schedule.

Position Details

  • Position: Echo Technologist (Cardiac Sonographer)
  • Location: VA Northern California Health Care System in Mather, CA.
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday / Weekend Schedule: Outpatient-only services
  • Days Off: Monday & Tuesday
  • Shift:
  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required for Federal Employment (VA) positions
  • Minimum of two (2) years of current, consecutive experience as an Echo Technologist.
  • Current ARDMS (RDCS) credential required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies in accordance with safe patient handling guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic echocardiograms and obtain high-quality echocardiographic images for physician interpretation
  • Review patient history and verify examination orders prior to performing procedures
  • Prepare and position patients for echocardiographic examinations
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and the healthcare team
  • Accurately document studies and patient information in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained and functioning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to caring for Veteran patients
  • Maintain compliance with VA policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures
