Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A hospital-owned retail pharmacy in Buckeye, WV is seeking a qualified Staff Pharmacist to oversee daily pharmacy operations on a 12-week contract basis. This community-focused pharmacy, operated by a local hospital, serves approximately 4,000 prescriptions per month and offers an inviting atmosphere enhanced by an onsite gift shop and coffee shop.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists to ensure efficient workflow
- Accurately verify, dispense, and distribute medications while maintaining safety standards
- Manage pharmacy inventory, medication stock, and formulary compliance
- Oversee controlled substance handling, documentation, and regulatory adherence
- Administer and manage the 340B drug pricing program ensuring full compliance
- Handle pharmacy billing, claims submission, and reconciliation processes
- Utilize Pioneer RX and electronic health records to maintain data accuracy (training provided)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize pharmacy operations
- Administer immunizations per certification
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted pharmacy license in West Virginia
- Experience with Pioneer RX preferred
- Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred but not mandatory
- Current CPR certification and immunization license required
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Schedule:
- 2 days per week, preferably Tuesday and Wednesday, but flexible with other days
- 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM (10-hour shifts including 30-minute lunch)
