Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A hospital-owned retail pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist for a 12-week contract assignment in Buckeye, WV. This pharmacy supports a vibrant community environment, integrating traditional pharmacy services with a gift shop and coffee shop to provide a welcoming experience for patients and visitors. The position plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the entire retail pharmacy operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmaceutical care.
Location: Buckeye, WV
Schedule:
- 2 days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday preferred; flexible)
- Shift hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM (10-hour shift with 30-minute lunch)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists in daily operations
- Verify, dispense, and ensure accuracy and safety in medication distribution
- Manage inventory, medication stock, and formulary compliance
- Maintain strict adherence to controlled substance handling and documentation
- Administer and oversee the 340B program ensuring regulatory compliance
- Handle pharmacy billing, claims submission, and reconciliation processes
- Utilize and maintain accuracy within EHR and pharmacy software (training provided)
- Support operational workflow and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Administer immunizations to patients
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active and clear West Virginia pharmacist license required
- Experience with Pioneer RX software preferred
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy, PharmD preferred but not mandatory
- Current CPR certification and active immunization certification
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
