Job Description
We are looking for an experienced attorney to join a well-established legal practice in Arizona. This opportunity is ideal for a self-directed individual who wants the autonomy of building and growing a practice without taking on the burden of launching a firm from the ground up. The role focuses on trust, probate, and estate planning matters, with room to expand an existing client base while developing new business in the market.
Responsibilities:
• Advise clients on trust administration, probate proceedings, wills, and related estate planning matters with a high standard of legal judgment and client service.
• Manage cases from initial consultation through resolution, including strategy development, filings, court appearances, and ongoing communication with clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare and refine legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery requests, and other case-related materials.
• Cultivate and expand a client portfolio through business development efforts, strategic networking, and relationship management.
• Assume responsibility for existing client matters as they become available and ensure a smooth continuation of legal services.
• Represent clients in civil litigation matters connected to probate, trusts, estates, or other relevant disputes when needed.
• Collaborate with firm leadership and colleagues to identify growth opportunities, including the possibility of integrating with additional attorneys joining as a team.
• Maintain compliance with applicable legal standards, court procedures, and ethical obligations in all aspects of practice.• Active license to practice law and good standing with the applicable state bar.
• At least 7 years of legal experience, with substantial exposure to trust, probate, wills, or estate planning work.
• Demonstrated ability to handle litigation tasks, including drafting motions, preparing briefs, and managing discovery.
• Background in civil litigation and confidence representing clients in contested matters.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to generate business, strengthen client relationships, and grow a practice.
• Portable book of business is preferred, though candidates with a proven track record of developing clients will also be considered.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with sound judgment and independent case management ability.
