Pay: $22/hr | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

BG Staffing is seeking a reliable and skilled Floating Apartment Maintenance Technician to support multiple apartment communities throughout the Kalamazoo, MI area. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday, takes pride in maintaining apartment communities, and can work independently while traveling between properties as needed.

The technician will float between five apartment communities, providing maintenance support based on each property's daily needs. The communities are approximately 20–30 minutes apart, and mileage reimbursement is provided if travel between multiple properties is required during the workday.

Position Details

Role: Floating Apartment Maintenance Technician

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Pay: $22/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Start Date: Immediately

Opportunity Type: Contract-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete and troubleshoot apartment service requests independently
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical repairs
• Complete unit turns, including drywall repairs, painting, and minor renovations
• Repair appliances, fixtures, doors, and locks
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of community grounds
• Travel between five apartment communities as directed to assist with maintenance needs

Minimum Requirements (Must Have):

• Previous apartment maintenance, construction, or renovation experience
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple properties
• Own basic hand tools (power tools preferred)
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Consistent attendance and flexibility to travel between properties during the workday
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment
