Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Colorado, requiring ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications with night shift and every-other-weekend availability.

• Acute care hospital Emergency Department (ED/ER) setting
\n
• Level 3 Trauma Center with The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Orthopedic Trauma and Emergency Stroke Ready designation
\n
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, DM, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and HTN
\n
• Patient volume averages approximately 150 patients per day
\n
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4–5 based on acuity
\n
• ER holds are mixed within the ED; no separate psych/seclusion rooms
\n
• Charting system is Epic
\n
• RNs are required to read and interpret telemetry independently — no monitor techs on unit
\n
• RNs will be trained to perform Point-of-Care lab testing
\n
• RT is available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs
\n
• Techs support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and help with triage
\n
• 12-hour night shifts
\n
• Every other weekend required
\n
• Every other holiday required
\n
• Floating is required throughout the assigned zone's ERs within a 60-mile radius
\n
• No on-call or standby requirement
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active CO RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
\n
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
\n
• Required certifications (all AHA, all must be active — no pending certifications accepted): ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
\n
• BSN is not required
\n
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
\n
• A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration
\n
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
\n
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility (driver's license used to confirm permanent address)
\n

• Unit orientation is 2–3 days; clinicians must be on-site in Colorado for the week of orientation even if initial modules are completed remotely
\n
• Charge nurses carry an assignment on this unit
\n
• Scrub color is navy blue
\n
• Floating is required throughout the full 60-mile zone — travelers are responsible for securing housing that makes this feasible regardless of where they choose to stay
\n
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility in the CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health system within the past year; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
