Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN, Chemo Certified, for a cancer center requiring ACLS, BLS, and ONS/ONCC chemo certification along with 2 years of oncology experience.

  • Work in the Oncology Chemo Certified unit of a dedicated cancer center
  • \n
  • Care for patients with hematological malignancies, bone marrow transplant, CAR-T therapy, and solid oncology diagnoses
  • \n
  • Perform chemotherapy administration and related special procedures
  • \n
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • \n
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • \n
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • \n
  • Uses EPIC charting system
  • \n
  • Float within skillset across the Morris and Main Campus locations as needed
  • \n
  • Patient ratios vary based on census and staffing when floated, with assignments based on patient acuity
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required
  • \n
  • Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
  • \n
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and Chemo (ONS/ONCC)
  • \n
  • EPIC charting system experience required
  • \n
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • \n
  • Experience with IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, and central line care
  • \n
  • Experience recognizing and managing chemotherapy side effects and oncologic emergencies
  • \n
  • Experience with chemotherapy administration, monitoring, and body fluid handling
  • \n
  • Two current professional references required
  • \n
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and psychosocial support for oncology patients
  • \n
  • Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and sepsis
  • \n
  • Coordinate care and collaborate with the healthcare team to support patients undergoing cancer treatment
  • \n
  • Adhere to neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols
  • \n
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

  • Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
  • \n
  • Time off requests must be submitted and approved prior to receiving an offer, as changes cannot be accommodated after start
  • \n
  • Must be available to work 2 of 3 designated holidays
  • \n
  • Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year to be eligible for this travel assignment
