Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining the condition and operability of all plant equipment and facilities under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. The employee will perform both mechanical and electrical related tasks to accomplish maintenance, modifications, or installations of equipment, company owned vehicles, or machinery. This employee will be the primary person in the maintenance department on electrical issues, i.e. troubleshooting, repairing, or installation of electrical systems or components.

Specific Duties will include:
 

  • Troubleshoot and repair 110/240/480 volt single phase and 3 phase AC circuits. Also 12/24/90 volt DC circuits.
  • Troubleshoot 3 phase induction motors and remove/replace bearings.
  • Inspect, repair, and clean motor control centers.
  • Troubleshoot and minor repairs of electronic systems and printed circuit boards.
  • Install conduit, wiring, and components and make terminal connections.
  • Repair/replace power transmission components including sprockets, chains, bearings, gearboxes and motors.
  • Fabricate or repair using MIG or stick welders on mild steel and stainless steel.
  • Inspect and monitor machinery and make preventive maintenance recommendations.
  • Assist and perform any other duties as required by Management.

Qualifications required:
 

  • Understanding and experience working with 110/240/480 volt AC and 12/24/90 volt DC circuits.
  • A working knowledge of electronic systems and components.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints and understand ladder logic on control circuit schematics.
  • Ability to read and understand operation and service manuals.
  • Analytical skills required to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Good communication skills. English required. Bilingual a plus.
  • An attitude of cooperation and an understanding that the role of maintenance is one of service to production.
