Project Manager / Superintendent

Build Solutions is a growing commercial general contractor specializing in aviation, industrial, manufacturing and commercial tenant improvement projects throughout Southern California.

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager / Superintendent to take ownership of a technically challenging commercial construction project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The project includes warehouse improvements, office tenant improvements, structural concrete and steel work, new mechanical infrastructure, a generator enclosure, and extensive coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems within an active airport environment.

This is an approximately eight-month, full-time 1099 contract assignment dedicated to a single project. Upon successful completion, the successful contractor will have the opportunity to transition onto future Build Solutions projects as we continue to grow.

Working directly with the company owner and supported by a dedicated Project Coordinator and office team, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the project from mobilization through closeout.

Responsibilities

• Lead all daily site operations.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspections and site logistics.
• Maintain a safe, organized and productive jobsite.
• Manage the construction schedule and weekly look-ahead planning.
• Coordinate structural, architectural, MEP and fire protection trades.
• Maintain quality control and proactively resolve construction issues.
• Utilize Buildertrend daily for project documentation, Daily Logs, schedules, RFIs, Submittals and Change Orders (CORs).
• Communicate professionally with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Keep the company owner informed of project progress, risks and key decisions.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years' experience managing commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Excellent subcontractor management and coordination skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.
• Valid California driver's license.

Preferred

• Airport or secure facility construction experience.
• Commercial tenant improvement experience.
• Experience with Buildertrend, Procore or similar construction management software.
• Bluebeam Revu experience.
