Engineering Technician (Maintenance)

Schedule: Full-time (Overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed) Monday - Friday 8-5
Driving: Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR required

Position Summary

Seeking a Engineering Technician to perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on laboratory support equipment to minimize downtime and maintain safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on cooling towers, air compressors, boilers, chillers, dryers, and related equipment.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and document all work performed.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and respond to maintenance requests.
• Safely operate hand tools and shop equipment, including drill presses, band saws, grinders, and metalworking equipment.
• Follow written and verbal instructions while working independently or with a team.
• Operate a company pickup truck or golf cart on campus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Maintenance, mechanical, or carpentry experience or training preferred.
• Ability to follow directions, maintain documentation, and work safely.
• Willingness to learn new skills and perform general maintenance tasks.
• 0 years of experience required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and cooling towers.
• Comfortable working in industrial and laboratory environments.
• Able to perform physical maintenance work in a safe manner.
