Talentstream's Aerospace and Defense team is engaged on a search for an experienced Avionics Software Engineer for a mid size A&D Engineering services organization in Phoenix,AZ. This a 3 day a week hybrid role, applicants are expected to reside local to the area. 

You will join a growing engineering team developing next-generation aerospace and flight systems.  The ideal candidate will have experience developing safety-critical avionics software and a strong understanding of aerospace software development standards. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, develop, test, and integrate embedded software supporting advanced flight systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain avionics software for aerospace applications.
  • Develop software in accordance with DO-178 processes and certification requirements.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in software architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and verification activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects while supporting system integration efforts.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to support software development and certification.
  • Ensure software meets performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent software development experience.
  • Experience developing avionics software in accordance with DO-178 standards.
  • Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming.
  • Experience with Flight Controls or Flight Management Systems (FMS).
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and engineering best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing embedded software.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded hardware.
  • Experience working within regulated aerospace or defense environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or an individual with protected status under U.S. asylum or refugee laws, or otherwise be eligible to obtain the required export authorization.
