Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Metal Finishers to join our manufacturing team in Kings Mountain, NC. This position requires automotive body repair experience, including metal finishing, dent repair, surface preparation, and the application of body filler (Bondo) to prepare metal components for the next stage of production. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, has a strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Grind, sand, smooth, and finish metal surfaces to meet production and quality standards
- Perform minor metal straightening and repair using dent pullers, dollies, and other body repair tools
- Apply and sand body filler (Bondo) to achieve smooth, defect-free surfaces
- Operate DA (Dual Action) grinders/sanders, grinders, polishers, and other metal finishing equipment
- Inspect parts for dents, imperfections, and defects before and after repairs
- Read and follow work instructions and quality specifications
- Maintain consistent quality while meeting daily production goals
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
- Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures
- Assist with additional production duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Previous automotive body repair, collision repair, or metal finishing experience is required
- Experience applying and sanding body filler (Bondo) is required
- Must be proficient using a DA (Dual Action) grinder/sander, dent puller, and dolly
- Previous experience grinding, sanding, and preparing metal surfaces for finishing
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools used in auto body or metal finishing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance
- Ability to work required overtime as production demands
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive collision repair or body shop experience
- Experience reading blueprints or work instructions
- Manufacturing or industrial production experience
- Experience using measuring tools and performing quality inspections
