POSITION SUMMARY: 

Unloading and washing of bulk potatoes received for packing plant and reloading of bulk

potatoes. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Assist lead person in unloading bulk trailers
•  Operate machines to wash and remove impurities from product
•  Assist lead person with sanitation requirements
•  Unload pallets from empty trailers
•  Assist with packaging activities if necessary
•  Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•  High school diploma or equivalent
•  Forklift experience a plus, certification will be required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

•  Ability to comprehend and follow directions and to communicate and keep daily records
•  General housekeeping and organizational skills
•  Self-motivated and able to function as part of a team
•  Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record for forklift
•  Ability to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

•  Be able to climb stationary ladder
•  Prolonged periods standing and moving throughout the facility
•  Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times
•  Various repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasks
•  Exposure to airborne particles or fumes
•  Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas

Work Schedule:

First Shift: 2:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. 

During our busy harvest season (mid-September through the end of October), additional hours and overtime may be required to help meet customer demand.
