POSITION SUMMARY:
Unloading and washing of bulk potatoes received for packing plant and reloading of bulk
potatoes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist lead person in unloading bulk trailers
- Operate machines to wash and remove impurities from product
- Assist lead person with sanitation requirements
- Unload pallets from empty trailers
- Assist with packaging activities if necessary
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience a plus, certification will be required
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to comprehend and follow directions and to communicate and keep daily records
- General housekeeping and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and able to function as part of a team
- Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record for forklift
- Ability to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Be able to climb stationary ladder
- Prolonged periods standing and moving throughout the facility
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times
- Various repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasks
- Exposure to airborne particles or fumes
- Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas
Work Schedule:
First Shift: 2:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
During our busy harvest season (mid-September through the end of October), additional hours and overtime may be required to help meet customer demand.
