Quality Manager Summary
In this role, the Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance activities within an aerospace manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards and customer requirements. This position manages the quality team, conducts inspections of machined parts, performs audits, supports customer source inspections, and works closely with machinists and production personnel to maintain the highest quality standards.

Quality Manager Pay Rate:
$60,000 - $120,000 per year
Quality Manager Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8-hour shift
Quality Manager Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform dimensional inspections of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, depth micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Utilize CMM and/or FARO Arm CMM equipment when applicable.
  • Manage, direct, and train quality team members on daily quality operations and procedures.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing planning documents.
  • Interpret GD&T requirements and verify compliance with established tolerances.
  • Conduct incoming inspections of raw materials and received components.
  • Prepare and maintain AS9100 documentation, including Forms 1, 2, and 3.
  • Coordinate and support customer source inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements and contractual specifications.
  • Collaborate with machinists and production personnel to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits related to AS9100 certification.
  • Investigate nonconformances and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain inspection records, quality reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Windows-based software applications for reporting and recordkeeping.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives throughout the quality management system.
Quality Manager Basic Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or quality-related education preferred.
  • Experience in quality assurance within a machining, manufacturing, or aerospace environment.
  • Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, and depth micrometers.
  • Experience using CMM and/or FARO Arm CMM equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Understanding of GD&T principles and tolerance interpretation.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality management standards and aerospace industry requirements.
  • Experience conducting internal and external quality audits.
  • Strong understanding of Forms 1, 2, and 3 documentation *Safety Sensitive Role* requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Windows-based software programs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work directly with customers, inspectors, machinists, and production personnel.
