Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Developmental & Behavioral Health

Location: Columbus, OH
Employment Type: Part-Time 
Pay: $63.00/hr 
Schedule: Short term, 20 hours/week, daytime hours

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high-quality medical care to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental conditions. This role is ideal for a provider who is passionate about delivering patient-centered care and collaborating with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support the overall health and well-being of a unique and often underserved population.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical assessments and ongoing medical evaluations
  
  
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions
  
  
• Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s developmental and behavioral needs
  
  
• Prescribe medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects
  
  
• Coordinate care with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, case managers, and support staff
  
  
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health maintenance, medication management, and preventive care
  
  
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  
  
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all patients
  
  

Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio
  
  
• Board certification as an FNP, AGNP, or PMHNP
  
  
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
  
  
• Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disorders
  
  
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
  
  
• Ability to build rapport with patients who may have communication or sensory challenges
  
  
• Experience in behavioral health, primary care, neurology, or disability services is highly preferred
