Job Title: Heat Treat Operator (2nd Shift)
Department: 1003 - Heat Treating
Location: High Bridge, NJ
Summary
The Heat Treat Operator is responsible for the precise execution of heat-treating processes and oversees the physical movement of products through furnaces, ensuring compliance with instruction sheets. They play a vital role in maintaining furnace efficiency and product integrity. Additionally, they operate various equipment, such as expanders and welders, accurately install and tack weld sizing rings, and use hydraulic jacks for sizing. The operator reads job prints, determines fittings OD and ID, and recognizes flaws, implementing corrective action. This role also involves coordinating activities, maintaining a safe workspace, and assisting other departments as needed.

Responsibilities
- Install sizing rings for large fittings.
- Dimensional sizing for heat treatment.
- Start-up and shutdown of furnaces.
- Oven controller and chart recorder operation.
- Furnace checks and adjustments during heat treat.
- Reporting on furnace and heat treat system problems.
- Interpretation of time, temperature, and cooling methods.
- Loading, unloading, supporting, and distributing products in furnaces.
- Documentation on heat treat chart, sample log, and paperwork.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisory personnel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- English language proficiency (speak, read, write)
- Spanish language proficiency (a plus)
Education and/or Experience
- 1 year of training or experience (substituting for diploma/GED)
