Job Details

• Position: Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
• Location: Fairfield
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Night Shift
• Schedule: 3x12
• Experience Required: 2 Years
• Weekly Pay: $2230 to $2430

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Perform detailed patient assessments and monitor changes in patient condition throughout hospitalization
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, pain management, and overall patient progress
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality care standards
• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting comfort and recovery

Requirements

• Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) License or compact/multistate license (if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification preferred
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and prioritization skills
• Experience caring for post-operative, medical, and complex adult patients
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced inpatient environment
• Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care
