SUMMARY:
Our client is a premier Texas-based law firm representing businesses, professionals, and individuals in complex litigation and transactional matters. With offices across Texas and California, the firm is recognized for delivering exceptional legal representation, strategic advocacy, and outstanding results for its clients. The firm is seeking a Associate Attorney- Civil Litigation
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Manage a diverse civil litigation caseload from pre-litigation through trial.
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, legal memoranda, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on complex legal issues.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial testimony.
- Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys.
- Evaluate case facts, evidence, liability, and damages.
- Negotiate settlements when appropriate.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding case updates, strategy, and recommendations.
- Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and attorneys to effectively manage cases.
- Maintain accurate billing records and meet productivity expectations.
- Participate in business development, networking, and client relationship activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing with the Texas Bar.
- 3-7 years of civil litigation experience.
- Experience managing litigation matters independently.
Strong experience with:
Drafting pleadings and motions.
Written discovery.
Depositions.
Legal research and writing.
Court filings and litigation strategy.
Excellent oral advocacy and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Client-focused mindset with sound professional judgment.
