Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role supports all buildings on a multi-facility Medford site by performing a wide range of facilities maintenance tasks, including plumbing, HVAC, and single-phase electrical troubleshooting and diagnosis. You will work as part of a small, collaborative team of four technicians and coordinate with third-party contractors for larger or more complex projects. The position offers cross-training across all aspects of maintenance protocols, giving you the opportunity to grow your skills in a clean, regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance across all buildings on the Medford site, ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and compliant.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose plumbing issues, including leaks, blockages, and component failures, and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including identifying root causes of performance issues and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform single-phase electrical troubleshooting and diagnosis, including 120-volt and other single-phase circuits, motors, and related components.
- Support electrical maintenance activities involving 208-volt, 280-volt, 480-volt, and three-phase power systems, under established safety protocols.
- Maintain and repair single-phase and three-phase motors, ensuring reliable operation of facility and production equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on facility systems, production machines, and mechanical equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Perform machinery maintenance and facilities repair tasks, including mechanical troubleshooting and component replacement.
- Work with pneumatics and related systems as part of machinery and facilities maintenance activities.
- Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors for large or intricate jobs, ensuring work quality, safety, and adherence to site standards.
- Collaborate closely with a team of four maintenance professionals, sharing knowledge and supporting cross-training efforts.
- Follow established maintenance protocols and documentation practices, including logging work performed and reporting issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulatory requirements associated with working in a cleanroom FDA facility.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and a strong work ethic by showing up consistently and contributing positively to the team.
- Participate in ongoing training to become proficient in all aspects of facilities and machine maintenance across the site.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, including diagnosing plumbing and HVAC issues.
- Hands-on experience with plumbing maintenance and repair in a facilities environment.
- Experience with HVAC troubleshooting, diagnosis, and basic repair.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose single-phase electrical systems, including 120-volt circuits and single-phase motors.
- Experience with facilities repair and maintenance of building systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues on production machines and facility equipment.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on motors and machinery.
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices for production machines and machinery maintenance.
- Ability to work with wiring and electrical maintenance tasks involving 208-volt, 280-volt, and 480-volt systems.
- Experience with three-phase power and three-phase motor systems.
- Familiarity with pneumatics as part of machinery and facilities maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Reliability, strong attendance, and a willingness to work and learn in a team environment.
- Trainable and teachable mindset, with openness to cross-training in multiple maintenance disciplines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in facilities maintenance and machine maintenance in an industrial, manufacturing, or regulated environment.
- Experience maintaining production machines and supporting machinery used in a clean or controlled environment.
- Comfort working with both single-phase and three-phase electrical systems under appropriate safety procedures.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with third-party contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and support staff.
- Willingness to adapt to established maintenance protocols and regulatory requirements in an FDA-regulated facility.

Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
