Job Description
The Facility Maintenance Technician supports a high-precision manufacturing operation that produces deep-drawn and formed metal components for aerospace, defense, medical device, and high-voltage tube applications. This role focuses on maintaining building systems, production facilities, and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations in an ISO and AS9100 quality environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facility infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and building systems, to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with facility equipment and building systems using blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Carry out maintenance repairs on production machinery, support equipment, and general facility assets to ensure continuous and safe operation.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential maintenance needs, safety concerns, and improvement opportunities.
- Support assembly, service, and repair activities by using appropriate hand tools and following established maintenance procedures.
- Maintain and update preventive maintenance schedules, records, and documentation in alignment with facility maintenance standards.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure maintenance work supports ISO and AS9100 quality system requirements.
- Assist with facility supervision tasks related to maintenance activities, including coordinating work, prioritizing tasks, and communicating status updates.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly to facility-related service requests and emergency maintenance needs to restore operations quickly and effectively.
- Proven experience in facility maintenance or maintenance engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in preventive maintenance, with hands-on experience planning and executing preventative maintenance activities.
- Practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in facilities and production environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with building maintenance and facilities maintenance, including HVAC and general infrastructure.
- Skilled in maintenance repair and service work using a variety of hand tools and equipment.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for facility systems, machinery, and related equipment.
- Experience in facility supervision or supporting facility management activities.
- Comfort working within structured quality systems such as ISO and AS9100.

- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, medical device, or high-voltage tube manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with assembly processes and production support in a manufacturing facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Danbury, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
