Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center in Michigan, requiring an active MI RN license in hand and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.

  • Works in a combined adult and pediatric General Emergency Department at a Level I Trauma Center, STEMI-certified, and Stroke-certified facility
  • \n
  • Patient population spans all age groups: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • \n
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • \n
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
  • \n
  • Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday, applicable to both day and night shifts)
  • \n
  • No on-call requirements
  • \n
  • Floating to the Hickman unit may be required as needed
  • \n
  • Medication dispensing via Pyxis
  • \n
  • Charting via Epic — Epic experience is required
  • \n
  • Block scheduling is not available for this position
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active Michigan (MI) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
  • \n
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), PALS, and TNCC
  • \n
  • Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • \n
  • Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • \n
  • Experience with IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation administration
  • \n
  • Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management
  • \n
  • Experience with CVA/stroke patient management and triage
  • \n
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions
  • \n
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Teaching hospital and Level II Trauma Center experience are preferred
  • \n
  • Navy blue scrubs are required
  • \n
  • Parking is complimentary
  • \n
  • A strong teamwork approach and adherence to the facility's behavioral expectations are required
  • \n
  • The call-off policy is strictly enforced
  • \n
  • Requested time off exceeding 7 days requires management approval
  • \n
  • First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
  • \n
  • All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
