Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down position specializing in cardiology, EP, and cardiac surgical patients, requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of recent equivalent experience and a NH or Compact RN license.

Details\n

\n
• 48-bed step-down unit providing care for cardiology, electrophysiology (EP), and cardiac surgical patients
\n
• Patient population includes cardiothoracic surgical (pre and post-op), CHF, vascular, pulmonary hypertension, and telemetry patients
\n
• Patient ratios: 1:3 on days, 1:4-5 on nights depending on acuity
\n
• Day/night rotation required
\n
• Step-down level procedures include hemodynamic monitoring, invasive BP monitoring via arterial lines, Bi-PAP/C-PAP, external pacers, epicardial wires, TR bands, and low-dose pressors/vasoactive/inotrope drips (Nitro, Primacor, Dobutamine, Dopamine)
\n
• Med/surg level procedures include chest tubes, trachs/laryngectomies, telemetry, complex wounds, central line care/maintenance/blood draws, and drips such as Diltiazem, Heparin, Lasix, Insulin, and Amiodarone
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active NH RN license or Compact RN license required (proof of state residency required for Compact license)
\n
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
\n
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent, equivalent step-down or progressive care experience required
\n
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
\n
• 2 references from managers required for consideration
\n
