American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring critical care experience and the ability to float to PICU and NICU units.

- Float pool position within a Magnet-recognized children's hospital \n
- Floats to Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) \n
- May also float to Pediatric Acute Care Surgical, Pediatric Acute Care Medical, Pediatric Intermediate Care, and Pediatric Oncology units based on need \n
- Cares for pediatric patients across the spectrum of acute, intermediate, oncology, neonatal, and critical care needs \n
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM \n
- Patient ratio of 1-2:4 \n
- Every other weekend coverage required \n
- Floating required with potential to float to affiliate hospitals nearby \n
- Epic EMR experience required \n
- \n
- Active RN license (Oregon or Compact) required \n
- Active OR (Operating Room) RN license required \n
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and PALS \n
- Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience required \n
- Epic charting experience required \n
- Skills in care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, and ventilator management \n
- Preferred skills: ICP monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias \n
- Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred \n
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (Charge RN references not accepted) \n
- Seven years of verifiable work history required, including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO \n
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted \n
- \n
- Provide critical care nursing across multiple pediatric specialty units as part of a float pool team \n
- Refusal to float as requested may result in cancellation of contract \n
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply \n
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction \n
- Returning staff must have been away from the facility for at least 6 months to be eligible \n
- Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks \n
- Former employees or previous travelers at this facility require a reference from the OHSU manager who previously supervised them \n
- Relias competency exams require a passing score of 85% or higher \n
- Background checks are comprehensive and conducted through an advanced lifetime reporting system with no accepted hits on background or license \n
