Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Stepdown position in New York requiring ACLS, strong cardiac and IV skills, and a minimum of 2 years of current experience.

Details\n

\n
• Medical/Surgical Stepdown unit in a hospital setting
\n
• Cardiac drip management, EKG strip interpretation, and all types of wound care are part of regular practice
\n
• Strong IV skills required for day-to-day patient care
\n
• Floating to the Med/Surg unit is required
\n
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active NY RN license required
\n
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
\n
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to start
\n
• Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg Stepdown or similar experience required
\n
• Travel nursing experience preferred
\n
• Proficiency with cardiac drips, EKG interpretation, IV placement, and wound care required
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Travel experience is preferred but not required
\n
• 8 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) must be completed as part of facility orientation
\n
• Two supervisory references are required for consideration: one from within the past year and one from within the past 2 years
\n
