American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring charge experience, L&D clinical skills including OB emergency management, and current fetal monitoring certification.
Details\n- \n
- LDRP unit with 9 beds, 1 OBED bed, 4 NICU beds, and 1 OR suite \n
- Patient ratios: 1:1 for active labors, inductions, and C-sections; couplet care 1:3; newborns 1:1 until stable; NICU intermediate care 1:3 (minimum 2 NICU nurses required in unit at all times) \n
- No unit secretaries or techs available on the unit \n
- Equipment includes CPN Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, and PCA pumps \n
- Documentation systems: Meditech and CPN \n
- Full-time schedule of 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays \n
- Floating required facility-wide if not needed on the unit; some staff are cross-trained to float between LDRP and NICU \n
- Procedures performed include C-sections, circumcisions, intra-uterine monitoring, and vacuum or forceps assisted deliveries \n
- Daily patient rounding and safety rounding required \n

- Active TN or Compact RN license required \n
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), NRP Advanced 9th Edition (American Academy of Pediatrics card), and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring certification or NCCEFM \n
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start \n
- Minimum 1 year of recent L&D experience required, including laboring and recovering the mother and receiving and transitioning the newborn \n
- Charge nurse experience required \n
- Experience with OB emergencies including shoulder dystocia and postpartum hemorrhage preferred \n
- Experience with inductions using Pitocin and Cervidil required \n
- Fetal monitoring education and experience required \n
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration \n
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months \n
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri) \n

- Facility is Joint Commission accredited with Stroke Center, Level II Trauma, and Level II NICU designations \n
- Pink and/or brown scrubs are required per the unit's infant security policy \n
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position \n
