Job Details:

\n

• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
\n • Every other holiday requirement
\n • No on-call or standby requirement
\n • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
\n • Float throughout the zone's ERs within a 60-mile radius from the zone's city center
\n • Housing must be obtained to make floating throughout the full 60-mile zone feasible
\n • Must be present in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are remote
\n • Unit orientation is 2-3 days
\n • Treat an average of 150 patients per day with common diagnoses including abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
\n • ER holds are intermixed within the ER
\n • Charge nurse takes an assignment
\n • RNs are required to read and interpret telemetry strips independently as there are no monitor techs
\n • Will be trained to perform Point of Care lab testing
\n • Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs
\n • Techs support unit secretary work and assist nurses on the floor and in triage
\n • Chart using EPIC
\n • Scrub color required: Navy Blue
\n • BSN not required
\n • Valid state license required for submission
\n • Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC

This acute care facility operates a high-volume emergency department serving as a Level 3 Trauma Center with The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Orthopedic Trauma. The facility is also designated as an Emergency Stroke Ready center, providing comprehensive care for stroke patients. The organization supports a wide range of emergency services with respiratory therapy available around the clock and dedicated support staff to assist nursing teams in delivering quality patient care.
