\nThe PACU RN is a Registered Nurse that provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The PACU RN provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The PACU RN supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The PACU RN reports to the PACU Manager.\n

Required Skills\n
\n
Qualifications:\n
\n

\n
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
\n
• Current Texas Nursing License
\n
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
\n
• Minimum of 2 years PACU or acute experience
\n
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
\n
• Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
\n
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
\n
• Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
\n
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
\n
• Excellent teaching skills
\n
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
\n
• Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
\n
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
\n
• Strong customer service skills
\n
• Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change
\n
• Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
