Psychologist - Per Diem - Part-time

About the Department

The Psychologist position provides direct psychological counseling services to Springfield College students to assist them in functioning personally and academically at an improved state. Beyond direct clinical services, the position works to make the campus environment a healthier place by providing programming and consultation services. In addition, the position provides clinical supervision to graduate associates to allow them to provide similar psychological services for students.

Rate of pay is commensurate on licensure and experience. Actual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to degrees attained, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Comprehensive compensation details, including any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.

Position Duties

- Provide individual, group and couples psychological counseling for Springfield College students including assessing each student's psychological state, establishing treatment goals and providing clinical services to meet these goals and documenting work in the medical record.
- Provide clinical supervision for graduate associates and pre-licensed professional staff who work in the Counseling Center by overseeing and reviewing their clinical work, verifying and signing off on their clinical notes and providing weekly face to face supervision.
- Prepare and provide educational outreach services to students on a wide array of psychological topics, attend and contribute to staff meetings, professional development seminars about current psychological topics and group supervision to uphold best practices in supporting and coordinating treatment for our students.

Minimum Qualifications

- Doctoral Degree in Psychology Required
- Must be licensed or licensed eligible in the state of Massachusetts as a Psychologist
- At least 1-3 years of work-related experience Required

Other Qualifications

For a person to be successful in the psychologist role they must have a very strong working knowledge of psychological theories and techniques. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, relate well to young adults and be able to handle stressful and complex situations while collaborating with many other people.
