Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Associate AttorneyAmLaw 200 OpportunityCompensation

$235,000 – $365,000+

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking an Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Associate Attorney to join its Washington, DC office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising public and private companies, private equity sponsors, boards of directors, and executive leadership on sophisticated executive compensation, employee benefits, and transactional matters.

Ideal Background

2–4 years of executive compensation and employee benefits experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience advising clients regarding qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, executive compensation arrangements, equity compensation, deferred compensation, and employee benefit programs

• Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, financings, and other corporate transactions through employee benefits and executive compensation due diligence

• Experience drafting and negotiating equity incentive plans, executive employment agreements, change-in-control agreements, severance agreements, deferred compensation arrangements, and related executive compensation documents

• Experience counseling clients regarding ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, Section 409A, Section 280G, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and other employee benefits laws

• Experience providing day-to-day advice on employee benefit plan administration, compliance, and executive compensation matters

• Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

DC bar admission required or ability to become admitted
