At AGC Glass Company North America in Bellefontaine, Ohio, we produce automotive safety glass for leading manufacturers across the U.S. and internationally. In our fast-paced, high-tech, team-driven plant, your quality leadership directly impacts safety on the road.

Consider these challenges
  • A line shows rising variation on SPC charts—how will you stabilize the process?
  • A customer portal flags a concern—what audits and tests validate compliance quickly?
  • A supplier change affects material properties—how do you collaborate with supply chain and engineering to contain, analyze, and correct?
What you'll tackle
  • Develop and institutionalize robust quality control systems and work standards.
  • Plan and lead audits, inspections, and testing to verify adherence to quality requirements.
  • Identify and implement production improvements that reduce defects and boost overall quality.
  • Work side by side with engineering, production, and supply chain to resolve issues using data-driven root cause methods.
  • Build and sustain documentation: process flows, inspection reports, corrective/preventive action records.
Credentials and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (specialization in Operations Management, Engineering Management, Quality Management) or a closely related field.
  • Master's degree in quality management or a related field is a plus.
  • 3–5 years in quality engineering or a related role within manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VOA, APQP.
  • Proficiency with improvement and problem-solving toolkits: Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to run audits, inspections, and structured testing to confirm compliance.
  • Experience with quality control software and statistical tools such as Minitab (or similar).
  • Familiarity with APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and MSA.
Technical acumen
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, product design basics, and material behavior.
  • Strong statistical analysis, problem-solving, and quality metric/KPI literacy.
  • Hands-on testing and inspection capability across materials, products, and processes.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management systems including ERP or SAP.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and reading engineering drawings is advantageous.
  • Experience with OEM portals is considered a plus.
