Summary

• ​Department: Surgical Unit 2T
• Shift timing:  Night Shift 18:45-07:15 Hours Monday to friday
• Per Week: 36 Hours.
• This department is a 22 unit, serving Medical/Surg adult patients and does have telemetry capability.
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6 on days and 1:6-7 on nights.
• Care for patients pre and post surgery and patients on heparin and lasix drips.
• The unit is also supported by PCTs and a Healthcare unit coordinator.
• Additional Support Mon-Thur includes a Clinical Supervisor on days and nights.
• Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemet

Roles & Responsibilities

• ​Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
