About the Opportunity
This is a permanent, full-time career opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join a dedicated, outpatient Acute Pain Services team operating within a premier regional hospital facility. If selected, you will be hired directly as a regular employee of the organization we represent, placing you on their payroll and making you eligible for full corporate benefits from day one. This is not a temporary, contract, or "temp-to-hire" assignment. Offering an exceptional work-life balance with a predictable, daylight-only schedule, this role is ideal for experienced nurses or highly motivated graduate nurses looking to specialize in outpatient clinical care.

Purpose
The Professional Staff Nurse in the outpatient Acute Pain Service division plays a foundational role within the multidisciplinary care delivery team. This professional manages the nursing process for a dedicated group of patients experiencing acute pain conditions, employing critical thinking, holistic care planning, and structured patient triage. Working in close, collaborative partnership with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, and families, the Staff Nurse translates patient conditions into actionable clinical recommendations, guides patients through their episodes of care, and maintains top-tier standards of patient safety and clinical quality.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Triage & Care Coordination: Triages incoming patient situations, assesses immediate acute pain needs, and coordinates medical responses directly with staff physicians to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Holistic Care Planning: Formulates comprehensive, individualized nursing goals and care pathways that involve the patient as an active partner, evaluating physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Physician Collaboration: Assists attending physicians with all operational aspects of outpatient care, including comprehensive patient assessments, physical evaluations, and minor clinical procedures.
  • Patient & Family Education: Applies adult learning principles to deliver detailed, accessible instruction to patients and their support networks, effectively guiding them through their specialized pain management regimens both in-office and via telephone follow-ups.
  • Quality Improvement & Evidence-Based Practice: Actively participates in practice-specific quality initiatives, identifies areas to improve patient satisfaction, and reviews modern clinical literature to support evidence-based care delivery.
  • Shared Governance & Team Partnership: Engages proactively in practice-based shared governance, group goal-setting, and operational transition processes while maintaining a supportive, adaptable environment for peers.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintains highly accurate, comprehensive electronic medical documentation that facilitates seamless care transitions and complies with national patient safety goals.
  • Staff Mentorship: Supports the clinical onboarding, practical orientation, and professional development of nursing students, new staff members, and universal care team colleagues.
Minimum Essential Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred but not strictly required.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of six (6) months of clinical nursing experience is preferred; however, highly qualified graduate nurses or entries with foundational clinical rotations are encouraged to apply.
  • Clinical Skillset: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities. Must possess the physical stamina required for walking, standing, and safely lifting or positioning patients, alongside visual-manual dexterity.
  • Communication & Adaptability: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across a complex, fast-paced clinical environment while managing changing priorities.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the facility is located, or an active multistate license issued by a participating Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Graduate Nurse (GN) Provision: Graduate nurses must successfully sit for and pass the licensure examination within six (6) months of their official hire date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification conforming to American Heart Association standards (including both didactic and hands-on skills demonstration) required within 30 days of hire.
  • Applicable regional background clearances, including Child Abuse (Act 33), Criminal Record Check (Act 34), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 73).
Performance-Based Earning Potential
This position features an established clinical nursing ladder structure designed to reward professional development, advanced certifications, and ongoing contributions to the outpatient care framework. Through sustained clinical excellence, leadership within shared governance committees, and positive annual evaluations, nurses have the structural opportunity to progress up to $41.64 per hour over time within the corporate pay scale.

  • Comprehensive Healthcare: Direct access to top-tier health, dental, and vision networks with comprehensive medical coverage options for you and your family.
