Assembler III

Our team is looking for Assembler III to join the team at Chatsworth, CA. The Assembler III is responsible for assembling, installing, aligning, testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing complex aerospace assemblies, subassemblies, and finished products in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, specifications, and quality standards. This position serves as a technical resource within Manufacturing by supporting continuous improvement initiatives, assisting with new product introductions, mentoring less experienced assemblers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Assemble complex mechanical and electromechanical products, subassemblies, and finished units using engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Perform high-complexity electro/mechanical assembly with close tolerances and precision fits.
  • Install, align, adjust, and fit components using appropriate hand tools, measuring devices, torque equipment, and specialized tooling.
  • Perform preset calibration, in-process inspections, functional testing, and final product testing.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex assembly and test issues and determine corrective actions.
  • Complete Quality Assurance records, inspection documentation, warranty reports, and production records accurately.
  • Recommend improvements to work instructions, tooling, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues and support new product introductions.
  • Train, mentor, and coach new assemblers while promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety and quality requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of mechanical assembly experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or precision manufacturing.
  • Advanced electro/mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics with minimal supervision and directions.
  • Proficient with torque wrenches, measuring equipment, and hand tools.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with calibration and functional testing.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and mentor others.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
