Experienced Truss Designer

About the Role

Are you an experienced truss designer ready to step out from behind the screen and into the field? We're looking for a Truss Sales Representative who understands trusses inside and out — someone who can walk into a job site, talk shop with builders and estimators, and translate technical know-how into strong customer relationships and closed deals.

This is a great opportunity for a designer who's mastered the technical side of the business and is ready to grow into a client-facing role where that expertise becomes a real competitive advantage.

What You'll Do

• Build and manage relationships with builders, contractors, and lumber yards in your territory
• Provide expert guidance on truss systems, layouts, and engineering options to help customers spec the right product
• Read blueprints and plans to develop accurate quotes and proposals
• Partner with our design team to ensure smooth handoff from sale to production
• Identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts
• Represent the company at job sites, pre-construction meetings, and industry events
• Stay current on building codes, engineering standards, and product innovations

What You Bring

• 2+ years of experience as a truss designer (roof and/or floor truss systems)
• Strong working knowledge of truss engineering software (MiTek, Alpine, or similar)
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans
• Excellent communication skills — comfortable talking with contractors, builders, and homeowners alike
• A self-starter mentality with a genuine interest in sales and relationship-building
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the territory
• No prior sales experience required — we'll train you on the sales process. We're looking for product knowledge and the drive to grow into this role.
