Job Type: TTH
Schedule: Day Shift — 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday (Fridays based on production needs)
Pay Range: $19/hr – $21/hr
Job Summary
Agency 8 is seeking CNC Machinist I to support machining operations for a leading organization in the manufacturing and industrial sector. This role requires a skilled, reliable machinist with 2+ years of experience working with manual and CNC equipment in fast-paced, high-precision environments.
The ideal candidate is comfortable performing machine setups, interpreting blueprints, and maintaining quality standards while working with a wide range of materials. They excel at multitasking under pressure, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and uphold a high level of safety and professionalism on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Adheres to engineering instructions, SOPs, and departmental procedures.
- Performs machine setups on manual lathes/mills, CNC lathes/mills, and Waterjet equipment.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Operates manual and CNC machines to produce accurate parts for production and engineering.
- Uses micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area and follows all safety regulations.
- Performs preventative maintenance per the company’s PM program.
- Sets up and uses machining fixtures for accurate, repeatable production.
- Edits basic CNC programs using G/M codes and Mazatrol.
- Handles composites, plastics, metals, and specialty alloys during machining.
- Supports other departments when approved by management.
- Completes additional machining and shop tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years working with manual and/or CNC machines.
- Demonstrates familiarity with CNC programming languages (G/M codes and Mazatrol) and performs basic program edits.
- Reads blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Maintains consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Willingness to work with a wide range of materials including composites, plastics, metals, and specialty alloys.
