Registered Nurse -- ICU / Critical Care

About this role

Laramie County Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit. You'll provide direct bedside care to critically ill adult patients, manage complex care plans alongside an interdisciplinary team, and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions. This is a hands-on critical-care role with rotating shifts and an on-call component.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients, including ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients
• Administer and titrate medications, including vasoactive and sedation drips, per protocol
• Monitor and interpret data from telemetry, ventilators, and hemodynamic lines; respond to changes
• Develop and update individualized care plans; document accurately in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and other staff; participate in rounds and rapid responses
• Educate patients and families on care plans and follow-up

Required qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wyoming, or a multi-state (NLC compact) license eligible for practice in Wyoming
• ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
• Minimum 1 year of acute-care RN experience
• Working knowledge of acute-care systems such as telemetry, IV pumps, and electronic health records (Epic or Cerner)
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills

Preferred qualifications

• 1+ years of ICU or critical-care experience
• CCRN certification
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• BSN
• Experience in a rural or critical-access hospital setting
