\nPosition Overview
\nThe Assistant Preconstruction Manager will support the Preconstruction team by developing conceptual and detailed estimates for commercial construction projects while collaborating with Project Managers, Operations, Architects, Owners, and Subcontractors throughout the preconstruction process.
\nThis position is ideal for a Project Engineer, Assistant Estimator, or Junior Estimator looking to continue growing a career in estimating and preconstruction.
\nKey Responsibilities & Expertise
\nEstimating
\n- \n
- Prepare quantity and material takeoffs from drawings and specifications. \n
- Develop conceptual and detailed cost estimates. \n
- Assist with project budgeting throughout design. \n
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents. \n
- Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases. \n
- Support bid day activities and proposal preparation. \n
Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination

- Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers. \n
- Review subcontractor proposals for scope, pricing, and completeness. \n
- Build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships. \n
- Assist with bid leveling and scope comparisons. \n
Preconstruction
\n- \n
- Assist with value engineering initiatives. \n
- Support budget development and cost planning. \n
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations throughout preconstruction. \n
- Participate in project turnover meetings to ensure a successful transition into construction. \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- 2–5 years of commercial construction experience. \n
- Experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Estimator, Junior Estimator, or Estimator preferred. \n
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and reading construction drawings. \n
- Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods. \n
- Excellent communication and organizational skills. \n
- Self-motivated with a desire to grow within Preconstruction. \n
- Construction Management degree preferred but not required. \n
