American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a night shift Med/Surg position at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital in Minnesota, requiring an active MN RN license and BLS certification.

- Post-operative Surgical Care Unit within a 479-bed acute care hospital \n
- Patient population includes General Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Urology, Plastic Surgery, GYN (non-OB), and Trauma post-op cases \n
- Patient ratio of 1:3–5 \n
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) \n
- Every other weekend required \n
- Floating to other similar units as needed \n
- Charting via Epic (preferred experience) \n
- Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma, teaching hospital environment \n
- \n
- Active MN RN license in hand or proof of MN license application at time of consideration \n
- Current BLS certification required \n
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required \n
- Epic EMR experience preferred \n
- Charge nurse experience preferred \n
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on work experience \n
- Candidates must not reside within 25 miles of the facility \n
- \n
- Provide post-operative nursing care across a range of surgical specialties including bariatric, vascular, urology, plastics, GYN, and trauma \n
- Preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, blood product administration, PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin/insulin/PCA administration, wound care/wound vac, and telemetry remote monitoring \n
- All RTO requests must be disclosed and approved at the time of submission; no RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO permitted for the contract \n
- Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility \n
- Former permanent employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 9 months before being eligible to return as a traveler \n
- Minnesota state law requires all travelers to complete Livescan fingerprinting in person in Minnesota within 48 hours of signing; travelers are responsible for all associated travel expenses \n
- Required lab work must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing \n
- Vaccine exemption documentation must be submitted with the candidate profile if a medical or religious exemption is being requested \n
- Scrubs color per facility profile — confirm at onboarding \n
- Free parking available in the North Lot in any unrestricted space \n
