Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 1+ year of experience performing advanced mammography procedures, including stereotactic biopsies and clip placements, in an outpatient imaging setting.

  • Mammography department within a hospital-based imaging setting
  • \n
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, with 2 Saturday shifts required within the contract period
  • \n
  • 40 hours per week
  • \n
  • Procedures include radiographic mammography exams, stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, drainages, and other advanced mammography procedures
  • \n
  • Charting via Epic EMR
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in mammography
  • \n
  • ARRT (R)(M) certification required, including ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification
  • \n
  • Active UT state Rad Tech license required (license required if applicable)
  • \n
  • Current AHA BLS certification required; must not expire prior to assignment start
  • \n
  • Must meet and maintain ACR FDA/MQSA mammography-specific requirements
  • \n
  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • \n
  • Personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) required for this assignment
  • \n
  • Proficiency in radiation protection, record maintenance, documentation, and imaging
  • \n
  • Physical ability to lift, push/pull, stand, walk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity
  • \n
  • DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
  • \n
Additional Information\n

  • Performs radiographic mammography exams per department protocol, producing high-quality diagnostic images for detection of breast tissue abnormalities
  • \n
  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation prior to each exam
  • \n
  • Provides patient education on breast self-examinations through verbal guidance and written materials
  • \n
  • Applies radiation protection practices in compliance with ALARA program requirements
  • \n
  • Maintains records per JCAHO and Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control standards, including time stamps and image storage
  • \n
  • Works independently, applying judgment, creativity, and initiative across a variety of procedures
  • \n
  • Candidates who are permanent staff of an Intermountain facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
  • \n
  • Providers are encouraged to use an existing radiation dosimeter badge from a previous employer or assignment to maintain a continuous exposure history; if a new badge is issued, prior exposure history will not be carried over
