Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring LDRP and Newborn Nursery experience, Epic proficiency, and a current NY RN license.

• Community hospital Labor & Delivery unit setting (community hospital experience preferred)
\n
• LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and Newborn Nursery patient population
\n
• Covers all phases of care: antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn
\n
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
\n
• Rotating weekend coverage required (every other weekend)
\n
• On-call is required
\n
• Floating required within skillset
\n
• Epic EMR — experience is required
\n
• 13-week contract
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active NY RN license currently in hand
\n
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NRP; EFM certification preferred
\n
• Minimum 1 year of acute hospital OB/L&D experience required
\n
• Experience in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care required
\n
• LDRP and Newborn Nursery experience required
\n
• Epic EMR experience required
\n
• Proficient in IV therapy, IV starts/maintenance, infusion pump management, and blood product administration
\n
• Proficient in fetal monitoring: external and internal EFM, recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
\n
• Neonatal care skills: APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, radiant warmer/thermoregulation
\n
• L&D procedural skills: vaginal delivery assist, high-risk delivery assist, C-section circulating, scrubbing, and recovery
\n
• Antepartum skills: obstetrical triage, sterile vaginal exam, sterile speculum exam, EFM use
\n
• Postpartum care: hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, cesarean and vaginal delivery recovery
\n
• Medication administration: antihypertensives, Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, insulin drips
\n
• Newborn care: newborn assessment, discharge teaching to parents
\n
• Surgical procedures: D&C, tubal ligation
\n
• Cardiac monitoring, adult and neonatal arrest response, dysrhythmia interpretation
\n
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
\n
