Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Home Health Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of experience and a valid FL or compact license for a 13-week contract in Pinellas County, FL.

Details\n

\n
• Home health setting with skilled home visits throughout the community
\n
• Day shift schedule, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
\n
• Caseload of 6–8 patient visits per day, with a minimum of 6 visits per day
\n
• Diverse patient population including amputees, CVA rehabilitation, TBI, spinal cord injury, MS, Parkinson's disease, dementia/Alzheimer's, hand injuries, and other progressive neurological disorders
\n
• Required skills include ADLs, orthopedics, prosthetics/orthotics, home exercise programs, patient/family education, safety and injury prevention, evaluation tools, and billing/documentation
\n
• Visits and hours are self-scheduled based on the needs of the HomeCare office
\n
• Charting completed using BayCare Forms and BayCare Scheduling systems; Cerner experience preferred
\n
• Equipment provided includes a laptop, MiFi for internet access, and a portable printer
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Current OT license — FL license or compact license required if applicable
\n
• Minimum 2 years of OT experience required
\n
• Home health experience required
\n
• Current BLS certification required
\n
• OASIS training/experience preferred
\n
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for home visits
\n
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption form required
\n
• Flu shot or signed declination required; mandatory mask wearing at all times while on assignment
\n
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
\n
• Date of birth required for consideration
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Conduct skilled occupational therapy home visits including evaluation, plan of care development, reassessments, and discharge documentation
\n
• Provide patient and family education, home exercise programs, and safety/injury prevention guidance
\n
• Perform adaptive equipment assessments, cognitive assessments, and home assessments
\n
• OASIS documentation experience is strongly preferred
\n
• Scrubs: any solid color
\n
• No time off (RTO) is permitted during the contract; candidates with RTO requests should be prepared to discuss directly with the facility manager
\n
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify for this position — the 100-mile radius rule applies
\n
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
\n
• Former permanent employees of BayCare must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
\n
• Return travelers must have completed a contract within the last year (since 7/1/2022) and are currently only being considered for select specialties — eligibility may be limited
\n
• Pre-employment modules are required and must be completed before the start date
