Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at an acute care facility in McCall, ID, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

  • Work in a 13-bed Med/Surg unit within an acute care hospital setting
  • \n
  • Patient population includes post-orthopedic surgery, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, general surgical (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, mastectomy), A-fib with RVR, MI/chest pain rule-outs, and pediatric respiratory cases (RSV/pneumonia)
  • \n
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 without a CNA or 1:3 with CNA support
  • \n
  • One CNA per shift assists with vitals, ADLs, Foley removal, and sterile procedure setup
  • \n
  • Telemetry monitoring via tele box with virtual monitor tech support; RN must be able to read basic telemetry
  • \n
  • Respiratory equipment includes nasal cannula, high-flow oxygen, CPAP, and BiPAP
  • \n
  • RNs are required to titrate drips including insulin, Cardizem, and Heparin
  • \n
  • Charge nurse serves as house-wide resource supervisor, covering both Med/Surg and L&D
  • \n
  • EMR: Epic
  • \n
  • 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a, three shifts per week with self-scheduling (gaps-first scheduling priority)
  • \n
  • Every other to every third weekend required
  • \n
  • Occasional holiday coverage required
  • \n
  • 2 on-call/standby shifts required per contract
  • \n
  • Float to the ER for tasking on a rare basis; primarily unit-based
  • \n
  • 13-week contract
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active Idaho RN license or Compact RN license required (must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted)
  • \n
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (copies of active certifications required; pending certifications not accepted)
  • \n
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • \n
  • Basic telemetry reading ability required
  • \n
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • \n
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • \n

  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

  • Professional scrubs in any color are acceptable
