We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to help maintain and improve manufacturing equipment, utility systems, and production operations in our Hollis, Maine facility.

 

Location: Hollis, Maine
Pay: $41.89 per hour at hire, with $0.50/hour increases after 90 and 180 days upon successful review
Shift: 2-2-3 Schedule | 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM
Shift Differential: Additional 6%-8% of base pay for applicable hours worked
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (paid after 90 days of employment). Sign on bonus eligibility applies only to new hires who have not been previously employed by the company, its affiliates, or its predecessors

 

Training Requirement: Candidates must be available to train on first shift for approximately three months before transitioning to their assigned schedule.

Responsibilities:

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems.

Diagnose and replace motors, electrical components, and equipment controls.

Support production by responding to equipment failures and minimizing downtime.

Complete equipment rebuilds ranging from minor repairs to major overhauls.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and preventive maintenance logs.

Support equipment installations, upgrades, retrofits, and commissioning activities.

Work with vendors, contractors, and equipment manufacturers to resolve technical issues.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.

Assist in maintaining utility systems, including compressors, chillers, boilers, water treatment, and wastewater systems.

Communicate effectively during shift handoffs and collaborate across production, maintenance, safety, and engineering teams.

Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications
3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or processing environment.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
Knowledge of electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase power.
Ability to diagnose and replace electric motors and related components.
Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and OEM technical documentation.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to perform physical job duties, including climbing, reaching, lifting, and conducting equipment inspections.
Ability to work overtime, respond to call-ins, and support multiple shifts as needed.
Ability to pass a Ramsay aptitude assessment.


Preferred Qualifications
Experience with compressors, chillers, boilers, water treatment, or utility systems.
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Experience with bottling, beverage, food manufacturing, or high-speed production equipment.
Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as SAP.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance and reliability programs.

 

Candidates must possess strong English language skills to effectively communicate with customers and provide exceptional service. Proficiency in English is essential for understanding customer needs, resolving inquiries, and collaborating with team members.
