Pay: $23.00/hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at a non-profit organization operating a network of federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) dedicated to ensuring access to healthcare for all. Services include primary care, behavioral health, specialty care, and health education and advocacy.

In this role, you’ll support our dental team in delivering high-quality patient care in a collaborative clinical setting.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Dental Assistant Certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting preferred; family practice setting a plus
  • Basic computer skills
  • Competence in 4-handed dentistry
  • Knowledge of OSHA infection-control standards under CDC guidelines
  • Experience with dental radiograph processing and sterilization procedures
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; able to work independently, multitask, and deliver excellent customer service


Key Responsibilities:
  • Check in patients and notify providers when patients arrive
  • Maintain the dental laboratory and process instruments — check in lab cases, pour impressions where indicated, store and send out cases, complete lab log sheets
  • Follow weekly and monthly maintenance procedures for all sterilization and radiograph-developing equipment
  • Follow OSHA infection-control standards under CDC guidelines, as overseen by the Infection Control Officer
  • Record daily patient appointment data (no-shows, cancellations, emergencies, payment source, etc.)
  • Take and process radiographs as directed by the dentist or hygienist
  • File treatment plans, periodontal charts, informed consent forms, referral forms, and complex-treatment contracts into the dental section of the comprehensive medical record
