Penmac Staffing is excited to be accepting applications for a Food Service Cook in the Osage Beach area.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Job Summary

The Food Service Cook prepares and serves nutritious, appealing meals for senior citizens in accordance with dietary guidelines, food safety regulations, and center policies. This position helps ensure a positive dining experience while supporting the health and well-being of older adults.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and recipes.
Ensure meals meet nutritional requirements for older adults.
Follow special dietary restrictions and modified diets as directed.
Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Monitor food temperatures and follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
Receive, store, and rotate food supplies using proper inventory practices.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work areas, and dining facilities.
Assist with meal service and portion control.
Work cooperatively with kitchen staff, volunteers, and center personnel.
Maintain records related to food production, temperatures, and inventory as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in institutional, cafeteria, restaurant, or senior nutrition food service preferred.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations.
Ability to prepare meals in large quantities.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Certification may be required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40–50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
