Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 3 x 12.5-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 34 Hours/Week
Pay Rate:
Local Rate: $1,483.5/Week (Based on experience)
Travel Rate: $1,872/Week (Based on experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Telemetry Technician for an exciting Contract opportunity in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will provide continuous cardiac monitoring, accurately interpret ECG rhythms, and promptly identify and communicate life-threatening cardiac events to support quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous ECG and telemetry monitoring for assigned patients.

  • Analyze ECG strips and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.

  • Identify and respond promptly to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes.

  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with proper electrode placement in multiple clinical settings.

  • Monitor and respond appropriately to telemetry alarms and monitoring system alerts.

  • Troubleshoot telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment as needed.

  • Communicate critical findings with physicians, charge nurses, and other healthcare team members.

  • Enter, verify, and update patient orders within the electronic medical record system.

  • Retrieve and communicate laboratory results to the appropriate clinical staff.

  • Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and patient safety standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry Technician experience required.

  • Active Telemetry Certification required.

  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross required.

  • Dysrhythmia Course completion required.

  • Strong ECG rhythm interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills.

  • Experience operating telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
