Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 3 x 12.5-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 34 Hours/Week
Pay Rate:
Local Rate: $1,483.5/Week (Based on experience)
Travel Rate: $1,872/Week (Based on experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Telemetry Technician for an exciting Contract opportunity in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will provide continuous cardiac monitoring, accurately interpret ECG rhythms, and promptly identify and communicate life-threatening cardiac events to support quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Perform continuous ECG and telemetry monitoring for assigned patients.
Analyze ECG strips and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
Identify and respond promptly to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes.
Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with proper electrode placement in multiple clinical settings.
Monitor and respond appropriately to telemetry alarms and monitoring system alerts.
Troubleshoot telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment as needed.
Communicate critical findings with physicians, charge nurses, and other healthcare team members.
Enter, verify, and update patient orders within the electronic medical record system.
Retrieve and communicate laboratory results to the appropriate clinical staff.
Maintain accurate documentation while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and patient safety standards.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 2 years of Telemetry Technician experience required.
Active Telemetry Certification required.
Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross required.
Dysrhythmia Course completion required.
Strong ECG rhythm interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills.
Experience operating telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
