Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a specialized mental health setting. The RN will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with healthcare teams to support patients with psychiatric and medical conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patient conditions and assess healthcare needs.
- Observe, document, and communicate patient symptoms to physicians.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing teams on individualized care plans.
- Perform routine nursing procedures, including vital signs and injections.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Maintain accurate patient charts and medical documentation.
- Ensure facility hygiene, safety, and infection control standards.
- Provide immediate care during medical emergencies.
- Assist physicians and surgeons during procedures when required.
- Supervise and support LPNs and nursing assistants.
- Create a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and families.
- Participate in training, workshops, and continuing education activities.
Unit Information:
Delta Forensic Unit:
Provides specialized forensic mental health services for individuals involved with the legal system who require psychiatric care and evaluation.
Admission Unit:
Manages patient admissions, transfers, discharges, documentation, and coordination of patient entry and exit processes.
Alpha Therapeutic Unit:
Provides physiotherapy and pain management services.
Spratt Geri-Psych Unit:
A geropsychiatric and skilled nursing unit providing care for elderly patients with dementia and severe mental health conditions.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Montana Registered Nurse License.
- Previous psychiatric/behavioral health nursing experience required.
- Ability to assess, monitor, and care for psychiatric patients.
- Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Required Certifications:
- Active BLS/CPR Certification from AHA or Red Cross.
